Moat House / Admissions
Our admission procedure
If you are interested in coming to the home you will be encouraged to visit and sample the atmosphere and level of service. A day at the home may be arranged to give you time to get to know the staff and adjust to new people and surroundings. A trial period is always given before taking permanent residency.
Our admittance criteria, for respite or permanent stays, accepts people over 65 years of age, of either sex, that can bear their own weight. We also accept clients with varying needs including mobility, continence, short-term memory loss (not dementia), social, emotional and personal care, The Home Manager will visit you to carry out a pre-admission assessment to determine suitability including any mental health issues. If both parties are happy to go ahead you will arrange your funding, either private or with your social worker, if applicable. Your room will be made ready for your admittance date.
Upon admittance you will be asked to agree and sign the agreement at the rear of this Information Book. You will be introduced to the care team and other clients. The Home Manager will make out your care plan as soon as possible.
We do not take emergency admissions
