Moat House / Our fees
Our Fees
Your fee may vary up or down from the basic fee following the pre-admittance assessment of your care needs, however, you will be informed of the precise fees required at the time of assessment.
Social Services may receive a bulk purchase discount from the basic fees. Should the Social Services contribution not fully cover your fee your representative may be asked to pay a Private Third Party Top Up but you will be informed prior to admittance.
Our basic weekly fee rates vary between £379 and £465 depending on your choice of room.
Fees and any SEA charge should be paid monthly in advance by Direct Debit through your bank on the first day of each month.

Social Services contributions to your fees
The rules governing Social Services funding of Care Home fees are complex and the following is only meant to give you a rough idea of what may be available to you. The amount they will contribute depends on how much savings or assets (usually your house) you have. This does not however, apply to the first 3 months of your stay, which they should pay regardless of the amount of money or assets you have. The Home Manager will be pleased to offer guidance on this matter if required.
At the time of writing Social Services will usually pay all or most of your fees providing you have less than £14,000. If you have more than £14,000 but less than £23,000 they will usually pay part of your fees. Should you have more than £23,000 they will probably pay nothing towards your fees. We have a contract with Social Services, therefore, their contribution will be paid as per the terms and conditions of that contract. Should the Social Services not cover all of your fees a private ‘top-up’ will need to be paid by your relative or other person.
Arrears
Managing arrears is not included in your fee: therefore we charge interest on arrears at 4% over HSBC bank base rate from the due date and a £10 administration charge for each reminder or letter sent.
